Women's Future Leadership Academy

Junior Achievement of New Jersey's Women's Future Leadership Academy is a free, weekly virtual course open to all New Jersey high school students.  

This collaborative series brings professional women from a variety of career stages and backgrounds together with students to share advice, learn new skills, and set goals for the future. The weekly activities feature interactive breakout sessions led by volunteer mentors that encourage all participants to learn, get involved and network, with topics designed to give the next generation of leaders the confidence and skills they need to dream big and reach their full potential.

Thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners, there is no cost to participate.

April 20: Networking with Confidence
​Use your strengths, uniqueness, and career goals to take your personal brand to the next level by creating your own elevator pitch.
April 27: Financial Empowerment
​Learn strategies from the experts for money management, making wise financial decisions, and how to protect your credit.
April 27, 4-5pm: Special Session with CNBC
​CNBC Executives and Mentors share strategies for professional business communication you'll need to advance your career.
May 4: Ace the Interview
​Prepare and practice answering common- and tricky- interview questions by highlighting your strengths and accomplishments.
May 11: Women in STEM: Leading through Inspiration
​Connect with, and relate to, successful female STEM professionals and and explore different leadership styles.  
Thursday May 13: Special Career Workshop with Johnson & Johnson
Collaborate, build your communication skills, and learn about
internships from J&J’s Women’s Leadership and Inclusion.
Special time 2:30-3:45pm
May 18: Collaboration and Design Thinking
Apply your leadership skills in a virtual team building challenge and learn a design thinking model utilized in companies around the world.
Thursday May 20: Special Career Workshop with AT&T
AT&T leaders and mentors will help you develop an innovative mindset and approach life and work with a desire to learn more and do more.
May 25: Executive Career Panel
A dynamic and diverse group of successful New Jersey women
leaders share inspirational words of wisdom, how to overcome
challenges, strengthen emotional intelligence, and develop the
skills necessary to stand out as a leader.
June 1:  Women in STEM: Developing a Growth Mindset 
Leaders with a growth mindset possess grit, perseverance, and embrace learning from failure- keys for success in STEM and high growth industries. 
June 8: Communication and Conflict Management
Conflicts arise, and good leaders know how to handle them. Learn strategies for effective conflict management from the experts.
June 15: Know your Worth
Volunteer mentors will help you build effective negotiation strategies that will help you ask for what you want and get what you deserve.
June 22: Financial Empowerment
Volunteer mentors from the Structured Finance Association’s Women in Securitization will share strategies and advice to help you own your economic success.
June 29: Achieve your Goals
Map a plan of action and build the confidence to achieve your education and career goals in this inspirational closing session! Hosted by Johnson & Johnson's WiSTEM2D.
